Drug maker Lupin announced on Monday that it has signed a distribution agreement with Ireland-based Scope Ophthalmics to market a range of ophthalmic products in Mexico. The deal is aimed at treating various eye conditions such as dry eyes, blepharitis, and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).

Under the agreement, Lupin will handle the registration and marketing of products like the Moist Heat Mask, Tea Tree Oil Eyelid Cleansing Gel, and Tea Tree Oil Eyelid Wipes from the Optase range in the Mexican market.

Fabrice Egros, President of Corporate Development and Growth Markets at Lupin, commented, "This expansion of our ophthalmology range reinforces our commitment to enhancing vision care for our patients, improving their quality of life." Scope's CEO, Tom Freyne, added that Mexico is a strategic market for their innovative eyecare products, leveraging Lupin's strong relationships and market credibility.

Lupin's stock closed down 1.41% at Rs 2,190.20 on the BSE on Monday.
