Authorities in Meerut have sealed an unregistered nursing home on Modi Nagar Road, following the death of a newborn and subsequent family protests, officials reported on Monday.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Tyagi disclosed that the 'Meerut Nursing Home' was operating without proper registration. The sealed facility admitted a city resident's wife on Sunday night, but the newborn died during delivery, prompting negligence allegations by the family.
Upon receiving the information, Dr. Tyagi and his team visited the site, confirmed its illegal status, and initiated shutdown procedures. Tyagi announced that the nursing home has been sealed and further action will be taken against the responsible doctor, who fled along with the medical staff following the incident.
