Dr. Rakesh Kumar Joins WISH Foundation USA as Chief Consultant – Global Health

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, a seasoned public health expert, has joined WISH Foundation USA as Chief Consultant – Global Health. He will advise on global strategy and help scale technology-enabled public health solutions to under-resourced regions, enhancing the Foundation's impact in low- and middle-income countries.

WISH Foundation USA has announced the appointment of Dr. Rakesh Kumar as Chief Consultant – Global Health. Dr. Kumar, with over three decades of experience in public health policy and program implementation, will provide strategic guidance and support to extend the Foundation's innovative health solutions to under-resourced regions of the Global South.

Dr. Kumar's illustrious career includes leading successful health initiatives in India, such as polio eradication and maternal & neonatal tetanus elimination. He also played a pivotal role in expanding India's immunization program and implementing the Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN). His extensive experience with UN agencies and numerous fellowships underline his authority in the global health sector.

As WISH Foundation USA aims to enhance its impact in low- and middle-income countries, Dr. Kumar's expertise will be instrumental in shaping and scaling its technology-driven public health delivery model. His joining is set to drive significant advancements and positive outcomes for the underserved populations in the Global South.
