Sikkim Secures Rs 400 Crore for Healthcare and Infrastructure Boost
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced that Sikkim has received sanctions for various projects worth Rs 400 crore from the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. Union DoNER minister Jyotiraditya Scindia approved funds for a new medical college and upgrades to hospitals, ensuring enhanced healthcare infrastructure in the state.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced that the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has sanctioned several projects totaling Rs 400 crore for the Himalayan state.
Speaking at a press conference, Tamang expressed gratitude to Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for his visit and for green-lighting various development initiatives. These projects aim to expedite infrastructure and growth activities in Sikkim.
Scindia revealed that the ministry approved Rs 170 crore for a new medical college, Rs 150 crore for medical equipment at Namchi district hospital, and Rs 6 crore for upgrading the Mangan district hospital. The central government is committed to enhancing healthcare infrastructure to ensure the best medical facilities for Sikkim residents.
