Coal India Partners with Aster CMI Hospital for Life-Saving Treatments
Coal India Limited has teamed up with Aster CMI Hospital to provide bone marrow transplants for children with thalassaemia and aplastic anaemia. Supported by India’s Health Ministry, the initiative involves up to Rs 3 crore in funding over three years, aimed at treating approximately 300 patients.

Coal India Limited has joined forces with Bengaluru-based Aster CMI Hospital to offer life-saving bone marrow transplants to children suffering from thalassaemia and aplastic anaemia, according to a hospital announcement on Monday.
Supported by the Health Ministry of India, this initiative is part of Coal India Limited's Corporate Social Responsibility project aimed at financially backing the treatment of these conditions. Vinay Ranjan, Director of Coal India Limited, highlighted the project's potential to make a significant impact.
Through this collaboration, Coal India has pledged up to Rs 3 crore over three years to support approximately 300 patients. Dr S P Somashekhar from Aster CMI Hospital confirmed their empanelment for the project, emphasizing the critical nature of timely treatment for these conditions that result in drastic reductions in lifespan without intervention.
