Routine services at state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital remained disrupted for the fourth consecutive day on Monday, as junior and resident doctors continued their protest against the rape and murder of a woman postgraduate trainee doctor in Kolkata.
The strike, organized by the Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD), began on Friday afternoon following the tragic incident at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9.
According to GMCH Dean Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, routine services have been partially affected, but emergency operations are ongoing, and Out Patient Departments (OPDs) are functioning smoothly with the help of senior doctors. Elective surgeries have been rescheduled due to the protest.
