Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh Honored with Lifetime Contribution Award

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh received the Lifetime Contribution Award from Dr Mohan's Diabetes Group for his significant contribution to diabetology and diabetes care. The award ceremony was held at the eleventh edition of Dr Mohan's International Diabetes Update, featuring the launch of new editions of Dr Mohan's Atlas of Indian Foods and Handbook of Diabetes Mellitus.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh was honored on Saturday with the Lifetime Contribution Award by Dr Mohan's Diabetes Group of Institutions for his outstanding commitment to advancing diabetology and enhancing diabetes care in the nation.

The prestigious Dr Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre (DMDSC) Award was presented during the eleventh edition of Dr Mohan's International Diabetes Update. The event was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology & Ministry of Earth Sciences, Jitendra Singh.

Dr Singh lauded the efforts of Dr Mohan's Diabetes Group of Institutions and acknowledged the contribution of the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, led by Dr Mohan, in placing India on the global diabetes research map. The conference also witnessed the launch of the second edition of Dr Mohan's Atlas of Indian Foods and the seventh edition of Dr Mohan's Handbook of Diabetes Mellitus. The updated atlas offers vital nutritional data for Indian foods, enhancing dietary research, while the updated handbook provides critical insights for healthcare professionals to improve diabetes management. More than 160 international faculty members participated, sharing insights on diabetes care, including GLP-1 inhibitors, diabetes and nutrition, sexual dysfunction linked to diabetes, and workshops on insulin management and foot care.
