A 59-year-old man was trapped in an elevator at the Government Medical College Hospital in Kerala for two days, authorities revealed on Monday. Disciplinary action has been initiated against staff members for their oversight.

Ravindran Nair, a resident of Ulloor, was rescued on Monday morning. He had entered the lift on Saturday for a medical checkup but remained trapped inside due to apparent malfunction. State Health Minister Veena George has demanded an immediate investigation.

Three hospital staff members, including two lift operators and a duty sergeant, have been suspended. Nair's family had reported him missing on Sunday night, and he has since been admitted for a detailed medical examination.
