In a strategic operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya successfully disrupted a smuggling operation involving 22 buffaloes being transported toward Bangladesh. Alert action by BSF personnel led to the arrest of five Indian nationals near the international border in the West Jaintia Hills District.
The operation, based on specific intelligence about cattle being illegally stocked in a betel nut garden, was executed by the 4th Battalion of BSF Meghalaya. Individuals involved in the illegal activity failed to provide justification for cattle possession, highlighting the swift and effective action of border forces.
BSF's continued vigilance was evident in February when a joint operation with sister agencies intercepted eight Bangladeshi nationals alongside an Indian driver, all trying to cross into Bangladesh illegally. These operations reflect BSF's steadfast dedication to border security and national safety.
