The Indian government is prioritizing border security through the construction and modernization of critical infrastructure. As reported by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to the Lok Sabha, key projects such as fencing, floodlights, and roads are underway to bolster security along international borders.

Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, informed that the ministry conducts regular reviews with relevant agencies and state governments to ensure timely completion of these vital projects. This includes addressing potential delays due to funding shortages and inter-agency disputes, with a focus on sensitive borders including those with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

In a comprehensive effort to enhance national security, the government has adopted a multi-pronged approach. This approach combines vulnerability mapping, strategic deployment of manpower, and installation of advanced surveillance equipment. Additionally, measures like continuous patrolling and anti-tunneling exercises are being implemented to maintain robust border security mechanisms.
