Edo State in Nigeria has taken bold steps to reform its education system through initiatives like EdoBEST, which leverages structured lessons and technology. While teacher presence and leadership are strong, learning outcomes remain weak due to gaps in teacher knowledge, infrastructure, and student readiness. Disparities between urban and rural areas, lack of accountability, and limited coordination hinder progress. The report highlights that with targeted investments in teaching quality and school conditions, Edo can become a model for education reform in Africa.
