Russia Demands Sanctions Lift for Black Sea Trade Deal
Russia, a leading wheat and fertilizer exporter, stipulates that Western sanctions on its food and fertilizer exports must be lifted for a Black Sea security deal. The agreement, discussed in Riyadh, seeks to ease Russia's access to global markets and requires the lifting of sanctions on Rosselkhozbank.

Russia, a preeminent exporter of wheat and fertilizers globally, has declared that Western sanctions on its shipments must be eradicated to advance the Black Sea maritime security agreement. This deal, brokered in talks held in Riyadh, aims to facilitate smoother trade relations and ensure maritime passage.
The U.S. has committed to assisting Russia in regaining its global agricultural market footing. Currently, Russia is set to export approximately 40 million tons of wheat, primarily serving Middle Eastern nations while planning a 50% increment in agricultural exports by 2030.
Furthermore, Russia has advocated for removing sanctions on Rosselkhozbank to implement this agreement successfully. Despite exporting significant quantities of food globally, payment and trade challenges persist, necessitating a comprehensive sanction lift to stabilize the market.
