The Awantipora Police launched an extensive operation on Monday, targeting multiple sites associated with members of banned groups, including Tehreek-e-Hurriyat and the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP). The crackdown relates to alleged involvement in terror activities within the region.
Officials stated that the raids were conducted under the supervision of executive magistrates, reinforcing the region's commitment to ensuring peace and order. Awantipora Police emphasized their resolve to eradicate terrorism from its roots in the district and assured continued efforts against unlawful activities until a tranquil environment is restored.
Concurrently, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police initiated a cordon and search operation in Saniyal, Hiranagar, responding to intelligence about terrorists in the area. Additionally, significant recoveries of armaments and explosives were made in a joint operation in Rajouri and Poonch, thwarting a potential terrorist assault.
