Counting is in progress for the recently held municipal elections in Haryana, where residents voted on March 2 for key positions including mayors and ward members across seven municipal corporations and several councils and committees. This includes districts like Gurugram, Sirsa, and Karnal.

In Gurugram, Deputy Commissioner of Police Karan Goel confirmed that all facilities are operational, with government employees dedicated to counting duties. Security forces are active, and counting begins with mayoral results followed by ward members. Similar multi-layer security is noted in Karnal, according to DSP Rajeev Kumar, ensuring safe conditions as the process continues.

The elections have also seen bypolls in select regions and robust security measures are in place in Sirsa and Jhajjar. The State Election Commission facilitated these elections, which included seven corporations such as Faridabad and Hisar, and 21 committees including Bawani Khera and Jakhal Mandi.
