In a thought-provoking address, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale emphasized India's global vision focused on welfare, not dominance. Speaking at a book launch event, Hosabale asserted that India's rise is not to overpower other nations but to support their welfare, highlighting the nation's altruistic aspirations on an international stage.
Touching upon historical influences, Hosabale remarked that the British colonial era instilled a sense of cultural superiority among Indians that endures today. He noted that this 'Englishism' fosters a belief in English-medium education's superiority, stressing the need to decolonize the Indian mindset and embrace native cultural values.
Furthermore, Hosabale advocated for the exclusive use of 'Bharat' over 'India' in official terminologies. Citing examples from the G-20 summit and official government documents, he urged a shift towards 'Bharat' to genuinely reflect the nation's identity and heritage, questioning the ongoing usage of 'India' in formal settings.
