Surat and Navi Mumbai Gear Up for New Year with Tight Security Measures

As the city of Surat prepares to welcome the New Year, authorities have announced substantial security measures to ensure a safe celebration. Deputy Commissioner of Police Hetal Patel revealed plans to deploy more than 4,000 police officers across the city to manage crowds and maintain order on December 31.
In a media briefing, DCP Patel highlighted the excitement among young people for the upcoming festivities and detailed the comprehensive security measures in place. "There's a lot of enthusiasm among the youth for December 31, and Surat Municipal Corporation has made extensive preparations. We will deploy over 4,000 police personnel on the roads," Patel stated.
The preparations, ongoing for a week, include vehicle checking and drone surveillance to maintain control, she noted. Meanwhile, Navi Mumbai police are also setting the stage for secure festivities, with Commissioner Milind Bharambe emphasizing safety protocols, including civil-dressed officers monitoring for drug and alcohol violations.
