In a sweeping crackdown on drug offenses, Delhi Police arrested 140 individuals under the sixth iteration of Operation Kavach, unveiling 139 NDPS cases. Conducted across 874 locations in 15 districts, the operation represents a concerted effort to rid the capital's streets of narcotics.
Delhi Police DCP Bhisham Singh emphasized the operation's strategic nature, describing it as a 'kick start' to ongoing efforts in controlling drug-related activities. He highlighted the importance of coordination in achieving significant results, ensuring any detained individuals undergo thorough interrogation.
The operation has already led to substantial drug seizures, including 870.1 grams of heroin, 193.8 kg of ganja, and 16.1 grams of cocaine. Additionally, excise violations resulted in 202 arrests, with a diverse array of illicit items confiscated, aiming to secure law and order in the region.
