An FIR was lodged on Monday targeting a factory operator in Indore district accused of illicitly redirecting subsidized fertilizers, intended for farmer use, according to an Agriculture Department official.
Authorities noted that 'NPK' fertilizers, comprising essential nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, were manufactured unlawfully using urea, single super phosphate, and muriate of potash, materials given by the Madhya Pradesh government on subsidy.
During an official inspection, approximately 950 tonnes of subsidized urea and related raw materials were confiscated from the factory located in the Khudail police station zone. The source of these raw materials remains unidentified. The factory operator faces charges under the Fertilizer (Control) Order of 1985 and the Essential Commodities Act of 1955. A thorough investigation is currently in progress.
