Andhra Pradesh's Ambitious Budget Unveiled: Focus on Revival and Development

The Andhra Pradesh government introduced a bold budget proposal of Rs 2.94 lakh crore for the fiscal year 2024-25, emphasizing economic revival and sustainable development. The announcement, made by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, outlined significant investments in education, healthcare, and urban development.
As the state faces a revenue deficit of Rs 34,743 crore and a fiscal deficit of Rs 68,743 crore, Keshav stated that the financial plan aims to reignite the financial engines of the state. He affirmed the NDA government's commitment to poverty eradication and welfare support for marginalized communities.
Highlighting the budget's priorities, substantial allocations were made for the Panchayat Raj, Water Resources, and Transport sectors, alongside a new clean energy policy to foster sustainability and energy transition. Additionally, Keshav signaled a move towards reconstructing state infrastructure neglected by the previous administration.
