Andhra Pradesh Unveils Ambitious 2024-25 Budget to Revitalize State Economy
The Andhra Pradesh government presented a Rs 2.94 lakh crore budget for 2024-25 focused on reviving the state's finances. The Andhra Pradesh government unveiled a Rs 2.94 lakh crore budget on Monday for the fiscal year 2024-25. Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav described it as a strategy to resuscitate the state's financial infrastructure.
With a revenue deficit pegged at approximately Rs 34,743.38 crore and a fiscal deficit at Rs 68,742.65 crore, the budget allocates significant resources to critical sectors. Rs 16,739 crore is earmarked for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Rs 29,909 crore for school education, and Rs 18,421 crore for healthcare.
Keshav also criticized the financial management of the previous YSRCP government, causing the opposition party to boycott the session today.
