In a chilling reminder of the ongoing volatility in Jammu and Kashmir, Darakhshan Andrabi, the chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has unequivocally condemned the murder of two Village Defence Guards by terrorists. Andrabi condemned these acts as attempts by 'enemies' to disrupt the fragile peace in the region.
Expressing grave concern, Andrabi emphasized that the resurgence of violent incidents is a deliberate attempt by adversaries who disdain the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. 'They aim to create chaos,' she declared, echoing sentiments shared by BJP leader Ravinder Raina, who visited the bereaved families of the victims.
The chilling attack, which involved the abduction and subsequent murder of Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, intensified efforts by the Indian Army, J&K Police, and Paramilitary forces in the Kishtwar district. Both the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, have decried the violence, vowing a crackdown on terror outfits and assuring comprehensive support for the victimized families.
