In a significant operation, the Kandivali unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai's Crime Branch has apprehended four individuals involved in drug trafficking. The arrests took place in Malad and Malvani areas, leading to the confiscation of 594 grams of heroin, with an international market value of approximately Rs 2.37 crore, police officials confirmed on Friday.
Among the arrested are two residents from Uttar Pradesh and two from Uttarakhand, indicating a network stretching across state lines. The police are actively pursuing leads to identify who the intended recipients of the drugs were within Mumbai, and further unraveling the intricate distribution network behind this supply chain.
Demonstrating a robust offensive against narcotics, the ANC has seized a staggering 3,010 kilograms of illegal drugs in the last ten months, valued at Rs 55 crore internationally. This effort has resulted in the registration of 68 cases and the arrest of 146 individuals linked to drug trafficking activities. (ANI)
