Partha Sengupta Takes Helm at Bandhan Bank: A New Era Begins

Partha Pratim Sengupta has officially taken over as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bandhan Bank, according to an announcement by the private lender. His appointment marks a new chapter for the bank, as he comes with extensive experience and a proven track record in the banking industry.
Sengupta steps into the role with the full endorsement of the Reserve Bank of India, which approved his three-year tenure, effective from November 10. He succeeds Ratan Kumar Kesh, who served as interim MD & CEO following the retirement of Chandra Sekhar Ghosh, the bank's founder. With Sengupta's arrival, Kesh will continue his duties as executive director and chief operating officer.
Prior to this role, Sengupta climbed the ranks at the State Bank of India, achieving the position of deputy managing director. He also served as MD & CEO of Indian Overseas Bank. Under his leadership, Bandhan Bank aims to enhance customer service, foster innovation, and expand its reach, ensuring sustainable financial inclusivity.
