Two European nationals, a French man and a German man, have been taken into custody after illegally entering the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, a facility used by Russia for its space missions, according to reports from Russian state media on Friday.
The RIA news agency cited a Kazakh prosecutor who confirmed that the individuals were detained for a period of one day. Following their brief detention, they were escorted off the premises of the high-security spaceport.
