Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff, conducted a strategic visit to Porbandar in Gujarat. During his trip, he received updates on the region's operational preparedness and infrastructure projects, all crucial for securing maritime interests, according to a statement by the Indian Navy on Thursday.
In an address on Wednesday to Naval and Defense personnel posted in the area, Admiral Tripathi extended Diwali wishes and praised their steadfast commitment to safeguarding India's maritime boundaries. Emphasizing Gujarat's pivotal role in India's maritime history and future, he urged all personnel to remain focused, underscoring the necessity of a Combat Ready and Cohesive Navy.
Earlier in the week, the Navy Chief inaugurated the Swavlamban 2024 exhibition, a key event highlighting naval innovation and indigenization. Open to startups and MSMEs, the exhibition, themed "Strength and Power through Innovation and Indigenization," spotlights cutting-edge technologies from Indian defense innovators. Public access is scheduled for October 28 and 29.
