Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated the 'Desh Ka Vallabh' statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the 'Museum of Valour' dedicated to Major Bob Khathing in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The ceremony, canceled in-person due to bad weather, was conducted from the 4 Corps Headquarters in Tezpur, Assam.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh emphasized the event's symbolism in promoting unity and harmony, aligning with national aspirations for growth. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik (Retd), Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu, and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Rajnath Singh paid homage to Sardar Patel, crediting him for integrating India's princely states and to Major Khathing for his contributions to the Northeast. Highlighted were projects like the Arunachal Frontier Highway and the Sela Tunnel, crucial for the region's connectivity and strategic development.
