Amid ongoing intense discussions over a significant family feud in Baramati, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule addressed the issue on Tuesday, asserting it is a clash between NCP in Maharashtra and the Bhartiya Janata Party's 'invisible power'.

The Baramati political scene is once again heating up with a family confrontation as NCP leader Ajit Pawar prepares to face off against his nephew Yugendra Pawar, who is the son of Ajit Pawar's younger brother, Shrinivas Pawar.

This region previously witnessed a significant contest in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections when Sunetra Pawar contested against NCP (SCP) candidate Supriya Sule, who ultimately emerged victorious by 1.5 lakh votes.

Commenting on the candidacy of Yugendra against Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule reinforced, "This is democracy...This is not simply a contest between uncle (Ajit Pawar) and nephew (Yugendra Pawar). This represents our ideological battle against BJP." She stressed that the ongoing clash in Baramati focuses on NCP Maharashtra challenging BJP's 'invisible power'.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar expressed his emotions during a rally, accusing NCP patron Sharad Pawar of creating a familial division by endorsing a candidate against him. He remarked on the impact of politics on family dynamics, stating, "It seems like others are now making errors. My mother has been very supportive, advising against nominating someone against me. However, I learned that Saheb (Sharad Pawar) orchestrated this opposition. Politics should not lower family unity to such a degree."

With state assembly elections scheduled for November 20, where votes across 288 constituencies will be counted on November 23, Ajit Pawar is eager to affirm his influence in Baramati. The previous assembly elections saw BJP collecting 105 seats in 2019 and 122 seats in 2014, marking clear political stakes ahead. (ANI)
