A devastating fire engulfed a two-room flat in Nand Bhawan, Kishangarh, resulting in the death of 16-year-old Aakash Mandal, authorities confirmed on Wednesday. Despite sustaining multiple injuries, Mandal could not be saved, said the Delhi Police, quashing social media speculation of the fire being caused by a blast.

The blaze erupted earlier in the day on the fourth floor, with Sunny Mandal (22), Laxmi Mandal (42), Deepak (20), and Anita Mandal (40) also suffering injuries. Sunny remains in critical condition at AIIMS Trauma Center, while the others are receiving medical care at Safdarjung Hospital.

Initial inquiries suggest a possible LPG cylinder leak, but subsequent investigations ruled out this theory as the cylinder was found intact. Community members revealed that Laxmi Mandal worked as a gardener, with his elder sons employed at Blinkit and the youngest still studying. Further probe into the tragic incident is ongoing.
