Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi on Sunday, underscoring the facility's unique blend of spirituality and modern healthcare. The hospital, he noted, will serve both elderly and children, while generating employment opportunities for the youth in Hariharpur.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present at the event in his parliamentary constituency, widely known as Kashi. Adityanath highlighted significant healthcare reforms in Kashi over the past decade, asserting its status as an emerging healthcare hub.

Prime Minister Modi remarked on Kashi's historical significance as a cultural and religious capital, stating that it is now becoming a pivotal healthcare center in Uttar Pradesh's Purvanchal region. He noted developments such as the trauma center at BHU and new medical colleges as evidence of these reforms. The PM also discussed the importance of preventative healthcare and the establishment of Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs for early disease detection.

During his visit, PM Modi toured an exhibition showcasing the new state-of-the-art eye hospital, which boasts a capacity of 225 beds. The facility is designed to serve patients from Uttar Pradesh and neighboring states, offering comprehensive consultations and treatments for eye conditions.

At the inauguration, CM Adityanath expressed his eagerness for the hospital's impact, emphasizing Kashi's ongoing development in various sectors.
