Professor Ram Gopal Yadav, the National General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party, on Friday urged party members to block roads leading from Akhilesh Yadav's residence in Lucknow to the Jaiprakash Narayan Convention Center. This call to action was in response to last year's incident, where Yadav was barred from laying a garland on Jai Prakash Narayan's statue, prompting nationwide debate over the BJP's stance on the matter.

Yadav expressed his ongoing confusion regarding the Uttar Pradesh administration's actions, which have historically obstructed access to the statue. He criticized the government's decision to barricade roads with metal sheets, calling it a reflection of narrow-minded governance. Highlighting Jai Prakash's legacy, Yadav emphasized the irony of denying honors to a Bharat Ratna-awarded freedom fighter.

In a further critique of the state's leadership, Yadav declared that the Samajwadi Party's supporters should demonstrate by blocking roads from the convention center to Akhilesh Yadav's home. He accused the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh of misguided leadership influenced by fear-driven advisors and stressed the necessity for civic engagement to challenge what he termed a 'blind deaf government'.
