Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to veteran industrialist Ratan Tata on Thursday, celebrating him as a globally respected figure. Ratan Tata, who led Tata Sons to global acclaim, passed away at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday at the age of 86.

Shah highlighted Tata's transformative leadership of the Tata Group, a defining element of his legacy. "Ratan Tata's passing is a deep loss. His leadership was pivotal during crucial times for the Tata Group," Shah remarked.

The Home Minister emphasized Tata's enduring influence on the industry. "His innovative approach and contributions to various sectors like education and healthcare continue to inspire," Shah noted. Additionally, Shah will attend Tata's last rites at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also expressed grief, acknowledging the irreplaceable loss. "The country will forever miss him," Patel stated. Tata's funeral, with his remains draped in the national flag, will allow public respects at the NCPA. His final journey is scheduled for 4 pm, per Tata Trust's announcement.

Born on December 28, 1937, Ratan Tata chaired two major philanthropic trusts and led Tata Sons from 1991 to 2012 before becoming Chairman Emeritus. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
