In a significant crackdown on illegal arms trafficking, Punjab Police have apprehended three individuals in two separate operations for smuggling weapons from Madhya Pradesh.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav announced that the arrests, carried out by the Amritsar Rural Police, mark a major setback for criminal gangs relying on these illegal weapons. The raids resulted in the seizure of eight pistols, 17 live cartridges, and four magazines, highlighting efforts to disrupt sophisticated criminal networks.

Yadav emphasized the Punjab Police's commitment to dismantling organized crime and illegal weapon smuggling rings, promising stern action against culprits. Recent achievements, including seizing heroin and drug money in Ajnala, underscore ongoing efforts to combat such threats. In the same vein, numerous operations across the state have led to significant arrests, firearms recovery, and the exposure of inter-state smuggling channels.
