In a significant development towards enhancing Uttarakhand's agricultural export potential, Sunil Barthwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, held a meeting with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister's residence in Dehradun.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Dhami elaborated on several state government schemes aimed at making Uttarakhand a prominent hub for agricultural product exports. Notably, the 'House of Himalayas' initiative was launched to spotlight state products. Additionally, APEDA's role in promoting organic farming and GI-tagged products was emphasized.

Barthwal revealed that for the first time, an industry interaction meet was arranged by APEDA, attracting over 200 participants, including top figures from Uttarakhand's agro-processing industries. The meeting explored strategies for agriculture and horticulture aligned with Uttarakhand's climate and discussed financial support for local tea producers. The event also witnessed the inauguration of the House of Himalayas' mobile store and the signing of crucial MoUs to enhance global export and recognition of Uttarakhand's local brands.
