Tragedy Strikes: Sisters Drown in Odisha Village Pond

A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Odisha's Balasore district when two sisters tragically lost their lives after drowning in a village pond. The event took place in Kharasahapur village, falling under the Soro police station's jurisdiction, as confirmed by Prabhansu Sekhar Mishra, the inspector in charge.

The two sisters, identified as Bhagyalaxmi Behera, aged 16, and her younger sister Raj Laxmi, 13, were the daughters of Manas Behera. Despite frantic efforts by both family members and villagers to rescue them from the pond and the immediate medical attention they received, doctors at the hospital pronounced them dead.

Authorities have registered the case as an unnatural death, and the bodies have been sent for autopsy to further investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
