In a determined bid to combat dust pollution, Delhi's Environment Minister Gopal Rai convened with both government and private construction agencies at the Delhi Secretariat. The meeting, held on Wednesday, was a part of the city's ongoing anti-dust campaign that started on October 7.
Minister Rai pointed out significant lapses during initial inspections, leading to penalties for several agencies violating dust control rules. Delving into the capital's upcoming assembly elections, he expressed confidence in Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) preparation for all seventy seats, emphasizing past success over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Highlighting their robust approach, Rai detailed measures for curbing dust, recognizing ten agencies for exemplary efforts. Alongside, the government has rolled out the 'Green Delhi' app, initiated bio-decomposer spraying, and anticipates further steps targeting vehicle and biomass pollution.
