The National Conference-Congress alliance is advancing in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, securing a lead in more than half of the seats, according to trends reported by the Election Commission of India. By 11:40 AM, NC chief Farooq Abdullah celebrated the alliance's performance, showing confidence in the coalition's potential gains.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is tracking with a lead in 26 seats as counts continue across 90 constituencies. These results are crucial for several prominent candidates, including former ministers and key political figures like Tara Chand, Muzaffar Baig, and Omar Abdullah.
Congress Chief Tariq Hameed Karra expressed optimism about crossing the 50-seat mark and emphasized forming a cohesive strategy with alliance partners for power sharing. Critiquing pre-poll actions, he called out the appointment of five MLAs by the LG as manipulative. He stressed reclaiming statehood as a primary mission for Jammu and Kashmir.
