Himachal Pradesh's Tribal Development, Revenue, and Horticulture Minister, Jagat Singh Negi, has raised alarms about frequent drone activity along the Indo-China border in Kinnaur district. Negi, representing the area, has ordered a suspension of activities on the region's barren lands citing security threats posed by these intrusions.
Negi's statement criticizes the central government and its agencies for failing to address the ongoing drone incursions from China, which he describes as a significant concern compromising national security. He stressed that patriotic slogans are not enough to counteract such intrusions and urged immediate action.
Pointing out previous territorial encroachments in Ladakh, Negi referenced environmentalist protests against these intrusions. He underscored the necessity of decisive government measures, warning of vulnerable areas including Spiti and vacated zones like Chijli and Chitkul.
