The Border Security Forces (BSF), in collaboration with Punjab Police, successfully recovered a drone in an operation that took place in a farming field near Mahwa village in Amritsar district on Monday. According to a BSF press release, the drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic.
An official release stated that on September 23, acting on intelligence from BSF's wing about the presence of a drone in the border area of Amritsar, BSF troops and Punjab Police conducted a thorough search of the suspected region. During this joint search, at approximately 06:20 pm, the troops recovered one drone from a farming field near Mahwa village. The drone is believed to have been neutralized due to BSF's technical counter-measures deployed in the border area, according to the release.
'A reliable input and the prompt action of BSF troops with Punjab Police once again successfully thwarted an illicit drone intrusion from across the border,' BSF stated in the release. Earlier, on September 12, BSF and Punjab Police recovered a drone carrying 6.230 kg of suspected heroin in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab. Similarly, on September 9, BSF troops recovered 1.180 kilogrammes of suspected heroin in the border area of Amritsar district.
