In a move reflecting a deep respect for history and heritage, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that the upcoming cabinet meeting will be held in Singrampur village, Damoh district, on October 5. This marks the 500th birth anniversary of the revered Rani Durgavati, who once ruled the Gondwana region from this historic location.

The choice of Singrampur is symbolic as it was the capital of Rani Durgavati and her husband, Raja Dalpat Shah. The village is home to the famous Singorgarh Fort and the mausoleum of Dalpat Shah, both key historical sites that the Chief Minister and his cabinet plan to visit as part of the anniversary celebrations.

The decision has sparked enthusiasm among local residents, who see the cabinet meeting as a unique opportunity for development and a boost to tourism. Sub Divisional Magistrate Avinash Rawat highlighted the significance of Singrampur, noting its ties to the Gondwana empire and expressing hope for positive impacts from the government's focus on this historic site.
