The Delhi High Court has turned down a plea from Sukesh Chandrashekhar, an alleged conman, seeking to block his transfer from Mandoli Jail to any other prison. The court emphasized there is no need for directions against such transfers unless justified by compelling reasons.

Sukesh filed the petition under Rule 667(1) of the Delhi Prison Rules, 2018, arguing that his transfer could disrupt ongoing treatments for ailments including gallbladder stones, which required visits to Safdarjung Hospital and RML Hospital. He requested a four-day notice before any transfer.

Justice Neena Bansal Krishna noted that Chandrashekhar receives adequate medical attention at outside hospitals and has stable psychological health. With psychiatric care available at Tihar Jail, the court found no grounds for interference with jail administration and granted a three-day notice for any future transfers.
