Mumbai Metro Extends Services for Navratri Festivities

MMMOCL announced the extension of Mumbai metro services from October 7 to October 11 for the Navratri Festival. Citizens will benefit from 12 additional trips daily, ensuring convenient and economical travel during midnight celebrations.

Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) announced on Tuesday that metro train services in Mumbai will be extended during the Navratri Festival, according to a press release. The additional services will be available from October 7 to October 11, with 12 extra trips daily maintaining a 15-minute frequency to facilitate convenient and economical travel for citizens attending midnight festivities.

The decision follows guidelines from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who also chairs the MMRDA. From October 7 to October 11, the total number of daily trips will rise from 282 to 294. The extra trips will run past 11 pm between Andheri West and Gundavali, ensuring better transportation during the festive period.

Sanjay Mukherjee, Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA and chairman of MMMOCL, emphasized the necessity of enhancing transportation to accommodate the festive rush. He stated, 'Navratri brings people together, and it's our responsibility to provide efficient and safe transportation.' Rubal Aggarwal, Managing Director of MMMOCL, added that the decision demonstrates a commitment to improving commuter experience, ensuring safe and reliable travel for festival participants.
