AP Minister Explores Gujarat's Advanced Road Infrastructure Tech with CM Bhupendra Patel

Andhra Pradesh's Road and Housing Minister, BC Janardhan Reddy, is leading a high-level delegation on a two-day tour of Gujarat to examine the state's advanced road infrastructure and technology. According to an official statement, Reddy also held a meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.
The official handle of Janardhan Reddy posted on X, 'Courtesy meeting of state ministers BC Janarthan Reddy with Gujarat CM Bhupendrabhai Patel. Discussion on PPP policy, construction of Gandhinagar city.' During the meeting, AP Minister Reddy showed keen interest in some of Gujarat's key projects and technological advancements, engaging in detailed discussions.
Reddy was briefed on various aspects of Gandhinagar's development as the state capital, including the construction of the Swarnim Complex, advanced works of Central Vista, Mahatma Mandir, and the Gandhinagar Railway Station. The delegation also visited Gift City to observe ongoing projects.
Alongside Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, prominent figures like Principal Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Transport and Road Building Department, Kantilal Dande, and other senior officials were present. The Chief Minister's Secretary, Avantika Singh, Road Building Secretary, AK Patel, and Special Secretary, Patelia, also attended.
The visit followed Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel's recent approval of Rs 255.06 crore from the Mukhyamantri Shaheri Sadak Yojana to support municipal corporations under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana. Specifically, Rs 181.50 crore was allocated to Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC).
In addition, Rs 68.94 crore was sanctioned for 29 urban road projects in the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC), and Rs 57.68 crore for seven projects in the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC). The total funding of Rs 961.47 crore was approved for 1,529 urban road projects.
Earlier, the Chief Minister announced Rs 668.3 crore allocation for the construction of concrete roads in rural areas to tackle issues like water logging and heavy traffic, as a long-term solution for road durability. A total of 787 roads, spanning over 1020.15 km, will be upgraded to concrete standards.
