Nine iron rods were recovered on the Bathinda-Delhi railway track, Government Railway Police (GRP) officials reported on Monday. Investigating Officer Shavinder Kumar stated that a train was halted after multiple iron rods were discovered early Sunday morning. The rods were retrieved around 3 a.m.

According to railway police officials, the rods were promptly removed, and an FIR was registered against unidentified individuals. "In the morning, the RPF investigated the matter, recovered the rods, and handed the case over to the GRP, which issued the FIR," said Kumar.

Kumar confirmed the recovery of a total of nine rods from the location. "Nine iron rods have been recovered. GRP has registered a case against unknown persons, and further investigation is ongoing," he added.

In a separate incident on Sunday in Kanpur, a potential disaster was avoided when a 5-litre empty gas cylinder was found on the tracks. The incident occurred near Prempur railway station around 5:50 a.m.

Indian Railway officials reported that the loco pilots of a goods train identified the cylinder, prompting the driver to halt the train. According to the CPRO of North Central Railway, "A goods train bound from Kanpur to Prayagraj was stopped using emergency brakes after the driver spotted a gas cylinder on the tracks at Prempur Station at 5:50 a.m. Railway IOW, security, and other teams examined and removed the empty cylinder. An investigation is underway," the statement read.

Similarly, on September 19, a metal pole was found on the tracks between Bilaspur Road and Rudrapur City in Uttarakhand. Indian Railway officials noted that a loco pilot detected a 6-meter-long iron pole on the tracks, after which the train was halted.
