In a shocking incident, 47 cattle, including calves, were stolen from a Gaushala located on the outskirts of Madhya Pradesh's capital, Bhopal, a police officer reported on Saturday. The Gaushala is situated in Runaha village, under the Nazirabad police station's jurisdiction, approximately 70 kilometers from the district headquarters. Police initiated a search operation after being tipped off and successfully recovered the animals. Efforts to apprehend the culprits are underway.

Superintendent of Police (Rural), Bhopal, Pramod Kumar Sinha, said, 'The theft occurred on the night of September 18, likely when people were preoccupied with Ganesh idol immersion and other activities. The incident was discovered the following day when the Gaushala's caretaker found the cattle missing and reported the theft to the police. We promptly registered a case and formed teams to conduct a search, eventually locating the cattle in a nearby forest.'

According to SP Sinha, CCTV footage helped identify the accused, who have a history of stealing animals for sale. 'We have identified the suspects and are actively searching for them. This is not a case of inter-religious conflict,' added the police official, emphasizing that further investigations are in progress.
