In a recent development, a BBMP contractor, Chaluvaraju, has lodged a police complaint against BJP MLA Munirathna, alleging death threats and abusive language. The complaint was filed on Friday evening and details were shared with Police Commissioner Dayanand.

Chaluvaraju accused Munirathna of demanding a commission related to a contract, threatening, "What happened to Renukaswamy will happen to you." He claimed that the MLA refused his offer of Rs 1 lakh and insisted on the full amount. Additionally, an audio clip allegedly features Munirathna using abusive language and threatening various individuals.

The police are investigating the allegations and a response from BJP MLA Munirathna is awaited. Meanwhile, Bengaluru Police recently submitted a comprehensive charge sheet related to the Renukaswamy murder case, identifying 17 accused, including actor Darshan Thoogudeepa. This charge sheet was presented to the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court.

All accused are currently under judicial custody. Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has commented on the issue of privileges in prison, advocating accountability for officers involved. Seven prison officials have been suspended following orders from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
