Four Army Soldiers Injured in Fierce Gunbattle with Terrorists in J-K's Kishtwar

In Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, four army soldiers were injured during a gunbattle with terrorists on Friday. Officials reported that a joint operation, involving the Jammu and Kashmir Police, kicked off following intelligence inputs. The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army disclosed via X that contact with the terrorists was established at 1530 hours, resulting in an ensuing firefight injuring four soldiers. The operation remains in progress.

As per Indian Army officials, one of the wounded soldiers has been evacuated to the nearby Command Hospital for treatment, while the other three are receiving medical care locally. Security forces have cordoned off the area, with operations still actively unfolding. Additional details are awaited.

Following the encounter, security has been intensified in Kishtwar, especially around the upper reaches of Naidgham village. Officials earlier confirmed that a clash erupted between terrorists and security forces in the Kishtwar district in the evening.

Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed, 'An encounter is underway between security forces and terrorists at the Pingnal Dugadda forest area, upper reaches of Naidgham village under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chhatroo, district Kishtwar.' Security personnel engaged terrorists within this forest area on Friday evening, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.

Meanwhile, in a related development, two terrorists were neutralized, and large warlike stores were recovered through a joint operation by the Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police. Rising Star Corps announced on X, 'In a joint operation launched on September 11, two terrorists were neutralized and significant warlike stores were recovered.'
