The Congress party unveiled its third list of candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections on Thursday. This list includes prominent figures such as Chander Mohan from Panchkula and Nirmal Singh from Ambala. Among the new entrants is former athlete Vinesh Phogat, who will contest from Julana.
Earlier, on September 9, the party released its second list featuring candidates like Ashok Arora and Brijendra Singh. Notably, Phogat, who joined Congress on September 6, will face BJP's Captain Yogesh Bairagi in Julana. Phogat expressed her gratitude to the constituency and emphasized the party's commitment to welfare.
Accompanied by Congress MP Deepender Hooda, Phogat filed her nomination, highlighting her dedication to public service. Voting for the 90-member assembly is slated for October 5, with results expected on October 8. The 2019 elections saw BJP win 40 seats, emerging as the single largest party.
