A suspected small pressure-type blast rocked Chandigarh's Sector 10 on Wednesday evening, damaging windows and flower pots in a residential area, police reported. Authorities are currently investigating the incident with forensic experts collecting evidence from the scene.

One individual has been apprehended in connection with the explosion, which occurred around 6 PM. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Kanwardeep Kaur, the blast caused noticeable damage to nearby windows and flower pots.

'A small pressure-type blast occurred here, causing damage to windows and some flower pots,' SSP Kaur stated. 'The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) team is currently gathering all relevant evidence. The investigation is actively underway.' The complainant reportedly saw two individuals near the residence allegedly hurling a grenade.

'The complainant has noted that two suspicious persons arrived in an auto-rickshaw and threw a grenade. Teams are searching for them now,' the SSP added. According to Chandigarh Police Public Relations Officer Dalbir Singh, forensic teams are on-site and investigating the suspected blast.

'An explosion occurred here around 6 PM. The FSL team is present and working to verify details. We'll know more once further information is provided by the team,' Singh said. A police statement mentioned that significant leads have resulted in one suspect being arrested, with the investigation ongoing.
