The rising trend of millet consumption, driven by its health benefits and growing production, has positioned it as India's 'golden grain', according to NERAMAC's Managing Director Commodore (Retd) Rajiv Ashok.

At the 'Promotion of Millets in India' event, Ashok emphasized the nutritional superiority of millet over rice and praised the Indian government's vigorous promotion of this crop, leading to its recognition as the International Year of Millets in 2023.

NABARD's Chief General Manager (Assam) Loken Das noted NERAMAC's significant role in promoting millet. He described millet as a genuine 'superfood' and anticipated positive outcomes from NABARD, NERAMAC, and state government collaborations, highlighting the participation of 200 farmers and entrepreneurs from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh at the event.
