In a tragic incident, four people lost their lives while twenty-four others were rescued after a building collapsed in Lucknow's Transport Nagar area on Saturday, according to officials. Several individuals are feared to be trapped beneath the debris.

'Twenty-four people have been rescued and are now receiving treatment in various hospitals. Thus far, four deaths have been confirmed,' ADG Law and Order told ANI. Expressing his sorrow over the incident, Union Defence Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh stated, 'The collapse is extremely painful. The local administration is actively engaged in rescue operations and providing assistance to victims.'

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to accelerate relief efforts and ensure proper medical care for the injured. 'The Chief Minister has directed district administration, SDRF, and NDRF teams to expedite rescue work and immediately hospitalize the injured,' said a statement from the CM's office.

Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar and other senior officials are overseeing the situation to ensure that the injured receive adequate medical treatment. 'Monitoring is being done at the highest levels,' DM Gangwar stated. ADG Amitabh Yash mentioned that CM Yogi is continuously reviewing the situation and coordinating between various departments for effective rescue operations.

Rescue efforts continue as the Fire Department, SDRF, NDRF, and other agencies work tirelessly to evacuate those still trapped. Chief Fire Officer Mangesh Kumar indicated that the exact number of people still trapped remains uncertain. Further updates are awaited. (ANI)
